Error 12 and Other

I have been getting Error 12 quite frequently, even though i have the ultimate fix installed. Also, I exited my game, but it was stuck on the black screen that occurs when you quit. Now my whole computer is stuck in the sims format i.e. there are 2 vertical black bars on either edge of my screen and the actual screen is small. Why are all these things happening?

Hello,
All the Error 12/13 are because of bad CC, and corrupted game files. There are some tips to be safe from them, but at this point I think it'd be better for you to delete every CC and start over with being careful.
Just go to your Documents/Electroinc Arts/The Sims 3 and rename the Sims 3 file with anything else.
And then restart your game to see if the problem continues. Please just try it and let me knoe the result.
Also, there are so practical tips for you to avoid getting error in Crinrit's blog.
