Source file not found: Error running The Sims 4 Setup Empty Source file not found: Error running The Sims 4 Setup

After downloading The Sims 4 and opening the rar, I proceeded to run the installer. I successfully surpassed the Visual C++ information, but soon after was greeted with this error message:
Source file not found: C:\Users\*myusername*\Downloads\DeviceDoctor.RAROpener_mkdtfchztkfbm!App\The Sims 4\setup1.cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.
Now, note that I do see setup1.cab in Downloads\RAROpener\The Sims 4 but I'm unable to extract or open it (when attempted I recieve "Cannot open the cabinet file.").

I've tried everything that I've deemed obvious to try to fix it, but I'm also apprehensive because I'm prone to screwing things up. Any help is appreciated as I've spent hours on this (it's currently 2:56 AM). If anybody's had this issue before or has any suggestions as for how to fix it I'd love to hear from you.

Hello and welcome to the forum,

First of all: make sure that you actually use the program WinRAR for opening and extracting the contents of the .RAR file. Get it here:
http://games4theworld.org/downloads.html

Next, you must make an empty folder somewhere. And after you opened the .RAR file with WinRAR, please mark all the items inside the .RAR with your mouse. After which you drag & drop the marked items into the empty folder you created. After the extraction is done, close WinRAR and go to the folder. Re-start the installation from there.

That's also the standard procedure with handling ALL other .RAR files. Good luck for now, and keep us posted ! Smile
