Post by Guest Sat 17 Sep 2011, 23:34

I downloaded everything according to your instructions to include updating the game. Here is my problem. I can install custom content but i have to do this every time i run the launcher and it crashes when i hit the big arrow to play the game. Also not all the custom content that i downloaded is showing in the game.

Hello,

Custom Content is not certified by EA and therefore can cause serious problems with your game(play). If the game doesn't start or crash after applying Custom Content, you should delete all of them and add them back in pairs of 5, to see which one(s) is/are causing the problem.
If you found that one/those, delete it/them and play with the working ones.

Hello,

Did you completely remove the "Mods" folder from the '(My) Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3' folder? If not, please do so.

Hello,
If most of it is store content, this shouldn't be the cause of the problem.
There have been some issues with even store updates, the launcher will show them as not installed and yet, they show up in game. Or they don't show up at all. Maybe this is something the new store content patch fixes, al though not according to the notes. But since this patch hasn't (yet) been tested and I'm not sure if it has to be cracked or not (Admin??) I wouldn't recommend installing it, for the time being.
I find that the launcher has started to give me more and more grief ever since the release of Generations and I'm starting the game without the launcher myself. Using the launcher takes me much more time and the game frequently crashes if I do.
If all of your (user created) mods have been removed, and you're still experiencing crashes, you may also try this.
