Made a mistake I think Empty Made a mistake I think

Post by Guest Fri 31 Jul 2015, 02:31

So, I wasn't really thinking, and connected my downloaded game to an old EA account of mine. That automatically suggested I update the game and download a patch, which I also did without thinking or checking if it would work. Now when I press play game, it says the disk is not installed. I'm guessing this was not the way to update a downloaded game, but is there a way to fix it? In case it matters, I only have University, Seasons and Generations installed, plus the original game of course.

If your game version is 1.67.2.024017 then you can just reapply this fix and it should work.

Thank you, it worked! Another question, only if you can help. To prevent future mistakes, should I not log into my EA account through the game? Just want to be sure either way.

I'm not sure what exactly you did (in the first place), but you should be able to right-click on the games that you accidentally added to the Origin/EA account in your Library, and then select "remove from Library". If that is what you did originally. You can then of course still log into Origin, as usual.

In-game, I'm not sure if you can log into an EA account with a pirated game. I think you would need a legit game (serial number) for that. But yes, to be safe, it may be better to not log in.

You can still log into your origins no problem. There is no problem with that. I don't think there will be any more updates for the Sims 3 so there won't be an issue with that. Just remember to make sure to follow our instructions properly if you choose to install any other expansion packs. You can also install any of the store items provided on our download site.
