NRaas has a name tuning mod linked to Story Progression. At the bottom are a bunch of lists that you can put into your game (I use the ultimate list, because wow it has a lot of names). This makes things a bit more interesting when using the random button for naming sims. Otherwise, for babies and when I feel like being different, I use this random name generator. It's got a lot of different names in it's database, and you can theme them out, so it can be really helpful if you like having families that have different cultural roots or if you like telling stories with them. It also has the meanings of all the names on the site.

It's actually the best random name generator I've found, just because of how many names it has, and how well they're sorted and the choices when generating the names.
