I checked this awesome forum for solutions and tried a bunch of things but nothing seems to work. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong (I'm quite a noob in computer stuff).

My computer specs meet the game requirements so that's not the problem.

I'm very sorry if I sound like a total noob and I know these questions have been asked many times before, but I'm really kinda desperate here.

The only crack that you need is mentioned in this guide here:

Please re-do the steps #2, #4 and #5 there. Again, the ONLY crack that you need is mentioned in step #5. You do NOT need to do anything else besides these few step. Out of interest...do you have the Sims 3 base game registered to your Origin account ?

I am having the same issue. I have tried reinstalling it all over again, downloaded the fix update and even put the crack in the right folder which is indeed game/bin. I haven't touched any of the add ons. I have just been trying to get the basic game working. But all I'm left with on after trying to hit play is EA asking for the code, which I do put in. I use the code in the instructions, the ones it tells me to use. But then it just keeps popping back up asking for the code again and again. Sometimes it will just say Licence server is down and try again later and it all shuts down. I would really appreciate help. I've been lurking around the forums but none of what I've read seems to help with this problem at hand other then this post but the only advice on this topic is "try the step again". Well I have and it still hasn't helped. Can anyone help or am I going to be redirected to the "MUST READ" page with no answers for me.

Hello,

Please install an expansion or stuff pack. Any of the newer packs (Generations or newer) will do, and then copy the crack from the fix into the game/bin.
