Can't Change Settings in Sims 4

Every time I change the settings in Sims 4 and try to reboot the game, I get the "Initialization at startup" error. Is there any way to fix this? I am sick of running the game in low settings.

Maybe you are setting your preferences too high and your emulator/computer doesn't have enough power to handle it? Perhaps you could try changing one or two settings per time and see which one is the guilty one.
If you were using a PC I would tell you to update your video drivers, but since you are on a Mac, I don't know what could be done, maybe updating your Windows Emulator? Maybe installing Windows 10 on it, if you can, maybe updating your windows install?
Sorry for not having experience with Macs, but maybe one of the ideas above, combined with what you already know can help you finding your way...
