I don't own the game either, sorry. Please try contacting the user and asking them for an alternative link outside of the gallery.

Also, EA is giving the legit Sims 4 on GameTime for 48 hours, maybe you could try that (there are a few topics on mixing and matching legit and pirate Sims 4 in this Forum that may help you with that)?

Please, keep us posted!

Just use the gallery from The Sims 4. You just got to do some tricks to get it running again. I access it all the time. I have the Zerbu lots in my tray folder. I could send them to you.

Sure! But I believe I won't have the chance/time to look into it, since it's a very specific request and out of our range of work, sorry.

Here is the trick
First install the Sims 4 (again, don't uninstall the first one), in a different directory then you currently have your game in.
Then don't update it or give it any packs
Download an old version of Origin from filehippo
Turn off the internet before it begins to update
When it shows an error (in a yellow box) Turn the internet back on
Download from the gallery (you may need to check Show Unowned content since its just the base game with no updates)
Close The Game and Origin.
Copy the tray folder somewhere safe
Delete the files in Documents
Put only the Tray folder in Documents/EA/Sims4
Load the fully updated game.
And you will have your gallery stuff

Interesting...

@Carlos, if you have some time, would you like to try the method above?

It will be cool if it works. I still don't have the game installed, sorry.

I know almost with certainty - and without testing - that the method works. Smile  But I don't think we should endorse this. Another user posted about this already, a few months ago and suggested (indirectly) that we move it to the The Sims 4 tips & tricks. I decided not to move it, because it would mean that team members walk users through this very difficult procedure. I myself have no interest in giving support on this 'workaround'.

Another thing is the possible complications when users start updating Origin, because they have legit games on it, and hence need to update the Origin client.

Sure I am happy for those people who can use this, but I don't think this procedure is suited for the average person.

Thanks, @Carlos! Can we just post the instructions in a new Tips & Tricks topic/tutorial, include your observations and let everybody know that, even though we share the info and that it might work, we won't provide support on it and that users should do that on their own risk?

What do you think about it?

The thing is, people are then going to ask about it on the forum still, and it will lead to lots of unanswered threads. With this here, we don't give support on it either, but people ask about it, for example.

The next thing is that @SeoY completely edited/crossed out his tutorial for connecting to the gallery. And if you put this workaround now into the Tips & Tricks, the guide would need to be rewritten.

I suggest you also contact SeoY about the issue. Smile  If you really want to go ahead with the idea, then OK, but I myself wouldn't.

Thanks, Carlos!

I think people already ask about whatever they want to ask, with or without a topic on the subject.

It's nice to have a simple answer like the one above, we can say "the gallery is not supported, but you may try, at your own risk, the method found here"...

I know I will do that about The Sims 4 on Mac now that I saw the topic you mentioned above, since I saw posts asking for help on the subject many times and I would have not much of an answer to give them before (I guess I saw the topic earlier, but I forgot about it, now I bookmarked it) Smile

Let's see what @SeoY says, then we see how we deal with it...
