Monitor crashes during gameplay

Hi, my pc started having this problem a few days ago, everytime I start playing the game (be it CAS, live mode, edit town) my monitor suddenly crashes and this message appears: "VGA input: no input signal" and the only way to make it work again is to force the shutdown.

Now, the only thing I did last week was reinstall a Sim in .sims3pack by accident, could that be it?

Hi there! As far as I'm concern, the VGA input problems have nothing to do with anything install to your Sims 3. However, it might be a problem with your graphics card/drivers. Have you tried updating them recently?

Hi, thanks for replaying! I have all the drivers updated, tho.

But what I've done was change the name of "The Sims 3" folder in "Documents" and started "fresh" my game without any CC, and the shutdown didn't happen.

Well, not until now (I've been testing it for half an hour now) and if it happens again, well the problem might be my monitor (it is 6 years old).

That is good to hear! Perhaps, or the wires might be loose as well. Also, try not to install to many CCs as those will definitely cause lag or crashes.
