The sims 4 is not opening.

Hello,

I have installed the sims 4 with the get to work and it worked fine but 2 weeks ago I updated it to ultimate fix with the spa and cool kitchen stuff now its not working. i followed everything read every forum with similar problem, uninstall, reinstall antivirus exclusion but nothing. its not working, sometimes after reinstalling it says i need to run origin then when i reboot and turned on origin b4 open the game now all that pop'up is origin. please tell me what im doing wrong and what can i do to play the sims 4

Hello and welcome to the forum,

Part of these problems are due to modern anti-virus systems being nasty. Smile

And because anti-virus firms are getting paid by game publishers to detect crack files as "virusses".

That said, have you tried moving the install folder "The Sims 4" OUT of the "Electronic Arts" subfolder ? Please try moving that install folder to a different location, like C:\Program files(x86) - that means move the folder directly under "Program files x86".

Since you said "Get to Work" was working fine already for you before, I'll assume that you already configured your anti-virus exclusions properly.

Hi Carlo,

thanks for replying to my message. Yes I did cut and paste the sims 4 folder directly to program files(86) but still nothing. when I click on the new sims 4 icon that i renamed after installing the sims 4 its says

" the dynamic library"rld.dll" failed to load. Please confirm that : 1) the file was copied over the same folder as the cracked executable.
2) the antivirus software is not false_detecting the file ( in which case white_list the folder/file)

I get this pop up when i try to run it.

so then i tried again but via ts4.exe that is in the game bin folder that's when it ask me to run origin what else can i try?

the link you sent me to delete the appdata I also did that and delete the origin files that was there but still nothing.

please help

If you are sure that your anti-virus is configured correctly, then try re-applying the latest Ultimate fix. Take the .RAR file, and re-extract the stuff. But I still think that either Windows Defender is interfering or your regular anti-virus. What is your Windows system actually ?

I have the bitdefender i thought it might the cause so i turned it off completely and used window defender following the architect installment tutorial on you tube still nothing. so i went and purchased the based game with origin can i still install the g4tw cracked expansions? if yes do you have a link i can follow or is the same installment like the ultimate fix?

You really need to figure out or do research on how exactly to configure exclusions in BitDefender properly. The thing is, if you turn off your main anti-virus completely, then Windows Defender will turn itself on automatically. And Windows Defender is very, VERY nasty, especially on Windows 10.

My suggestion would be - again - that you really try and do research on the web about BitDefender. Once you did that and configured it properly, leave it ON, whereby Windows Defender will shut itself off. If you find that it's not possible to configure BitDefender properly, then ditch it (= uninstall it, then reboot the computer), and then go for something else. I suggest avast or Kaspersky, as in the lengthy guide that I wrote here. Do check it out if you haven't done so yet !

Either way, once you managed to configure these exclusions properly, please do the steps from the following guide here (I will go into that, in a second):

Following that, please uninstall TS4 from your System Control Panel. After that re-install it in the following order: TS4 Base Game -> Get to Work -> latest Ultimate fix. You can get the base game and Get to Work-expansion from the following site:

I know that this is a lot of new information, and all of this is very hard to do, but EA have made a good job to make the game as hard to crack as possible. And ultimately, you will need to go through all that if you really want to play a pirated Sims 4 game. Which leads me to the following: you should have asked for advice (here) before buying the game. I'm sorry to tell you that, but I'm afraid you have just wasted money basically. Buying the base game alone does not improve your situation here in any way. You could in theory install that legit base game on Origin, but you would still need to apply the Get to Work expansion + Ultimate fix on top of that, and this in turn means you will still need to learn how to configure anti-virus systems (properly). The only good thing about that is this: in the event that you manage to get the game working, you could access the "gallery" of TS4, since you have the base game on Origin. But I won't go into detail here (the post is long enough already). Feel free to let me know once you managed to get the game working, then we'll see about that gallery if you like.

Nowadays days I cannot be as active on here as I would like to, and as I used to in the past, otherwise I would have said I'd try and help you via TeamViewer, but...that is not possible for me.

Did you make sure to have Origin completely turned off, too ? Also, if you re-installed the base game from Games4theworld, please move the installation folder "The Sims 4" out from Electronic Arts and into a different location. For example, move the folder directly under Program files(x86).

Also make sure to delete all old desktop shortcuts after doing that (you can create new shortcuts then).

I'll assume you also applied "Get to Work" at first, and then also the Ultimate fix ?

If you find out how to do all of this properly, you won't be having to do it again in the future. So that's at least something.

I did move the file under program files (x86) and also deleted the every shortcut i actually opened the game with the ts4 from ultimate fix. and yes I installed get to work first, hover, I have origin open on offline mode.

Don't leave Origin open - not even in "Offline mode". Make sure to have ALL Origin-related windows closed, even the one that prompts you to enter the ID and password.

Again, you can always ditch BitDefender and go for another anti-virus program, in the event it still causes you issues. And it seems it does.

Do you have any other security software besides BitDefender ? There are many smaller programs out there, like e.g. Lavasoft's Web Companion. If you have these smaller programs and want to keep BitDefender, please un-install them.

At that point, there really isn't much more I can say or do, I'm sorry.

I only have Bitdefender, but when i'd get get to work i had avast so I will try avast again and delete Bitdefender. But anyways, thank you so much for the help. at least we still manage to get the sims 4 even if its without the expansions.

I find I didn't really do that much to help you, but you're still welcome. Smile

If you had success with avast in the past, then sure, why not use it (again) ?

You can re-download avast from their official site, and if you like, you can try activating the "Pro"-edition, with the use of one of the serial keys that I uploaded here:

Look inside avast where it says "insert licence" file. And then navigate to the location where you extracted the download above. You will see many licence files, but you may need to try several times, as some of them were blacklisted. I myself managed to get a serial working from there. Tip: use one of the serials that have "2016" in their filename, that should have higher chances of not being blacklisted.
