Sims3 Download Problem -- Mac

Feeling a little bit ridiculous, as I can't seem to find the solution. I can't even get to the point of following the instructions, I used to use G4TW but haven't in a while.

Problem: I download the game (sims 3 base game), and quickly have a rar.torrent file on my computer. However, I cannot open, use or complete installing the game.

Maybe I'm the only one, and have completely forgotten some basic step-- but I am stuck, so I made a new un (Given I don't remember my old one) and am asking the community.

Any help is appreciated, I'm currently on Mac and have no Sims3 games installed on this computer. I do have rar extractor applications, but they do not recognize the .rar.torrent files.

Sorry for the late reply and welcome to the forum,

I moved your topic to the correct section. Smile

You will need to use a program that can "read" .torrent files, in order to download the actual game, or content of the .torrent file. There is this here for example:

P.S. if you download the "Complete Collection" of The Sims 3 here, as a .torrent:

Then this should work on Mac OS too, provided that you follow the Mac guide.

Thanks so much!

I had utorrent, so I was wondering why it wasn't working-- apparently I missed an update (or something).

However, now I'm having issues with the .exe files. Unarchiver isn't opening them correctly, any suggestions?

P.S. The proxy hyperlink, and the PirateBay link in the Mac guide is no longer correct (in Part one)

Unfortunately, I'm not a specialized Mac Helper, and the person who wrote the Mac guide hasn't been active on the forum for over 2 years now. But again, did you download the "Complete Collection" of The Sims 3, here ?
