How to remove/disable ads in µTorrent. [GUIDE]
Hello everyone,
So I found this great article on Softonic on how to disable ads in µTorrent.
You can find the little guide below.

uTorrent is one of the most popular P2P clients. It uses few computer resources, it's fast and it has everything a good torrent program should have. But since uTorrent is a free app, it also means that it also comes with some unwanted additions, like annoying ads!
When BitTorrent Inc. announced its plan to make uTorrent supported by ads, users wanted control over this option and luckily, uTorrent has made it really easy to turn off ads.
Here's our mini-guide to help you turn off ads in uTorrent:
1. Open the Advanced Settings
To do this, select Options > Preferences. Then select Advanced.
2. Filter the Advanced options
In the Filter box, type offer.
3. Change the value
Click on the left_rail_offer_enabled option and click False below, if it's not already set. Repeat this action for any name / value pair you wish to set.
And that's it! You should be rid of ads on uTorrent!

Re: How to remove/disable ads in µTorrent. [GUIDE]
After following the guide, you might see an "Upgrade" box in the bottom-left corner of µTorrent:
You can disable this in the "Options" menu:
(Uncheck "Show Plus Information")
Bittorrent users reading this: you should be able to follow this guide, and the instructions for removing the "Plus" box too.
(BitTorrent is almost the same as µTorrent - the major difference is that BitTorrent gets more frequent updates, I believe)

Thank you very much, I was looking for something like that!

Re: How to remove/disable ads in µTorrent. [GUIDE]
I wanted to write something like that myself, but then remembered vaguely that there is already something like that on the forum. However, this is what I do. I just "zero out" everything in the options that has the tags like "offer", "GUI" (graphics user interface), "sponsored", "ads", etc. So in addition to what Admin wrote already, there is this update.
gui.show_plus_upsell -> change to "false"
offers.featured_content_badge_enabled -> change to "false"
offers.featured_content_notifications_enabled -> change to "false"
offers.featured_content_rss_enabled ->change to "false"
offers.featured_content_rss_randomize -> change to "false"
Changing these values removes the most annoying ads (for me). There are, however, even more options than the ones mentioned thus far.
Close the "Preferences"-window. Now press and hold SHIFT + F2. Click again on preferences and if done correctly, there should now be a few more options whose values can also be changed. It appears to be optional though, as again, the procedure under part 1. of the guide above already removes the greatest deal of ads (no pun intended ).
gui.show_gate_explaination -> change to "false"
gui.show_gate_notify -> change to "false"
gui.show_plus_av_upsell -> change to "false"
gui.show_plus_conv_upsell -> change to "false"
gui.show_plus_upsell_nodes -> change to "false"
offers.backup_left_rail_offer_enabled -> change to "false"
offers.upgrade_panel -> change to "false"
offers.upgrade_toolbar -> change to "false"
offers.backup_sponsored_torrent_offer_enabled -> change to "false"
Some of these options there may already be on the value "false" for you out there, or at least they were for me. In which case just skip those and move on to the next option(s). When done, you might have to exit and restart your torrent client for all changes to take effect.
I am almost sure that there are even more possibilities for tweaking the client, but regarding ads, this should suffice for now. In general, you should only modify options if you know what they are about. If you mess up somewhere though, just undo the changes immediately.
//EDIT
Topic stickied. All these options are still functional as of version 3.4.6. of uTorrent.
