Sims Medieval: .RAR extracted as a .file? [SOLVED]
Hello,
I torrented the Sims Medieval, the Pirates and Nobles expansion pack, and the Ultimate Fix. My problem lies in the fact that no "Program(86)" file was created under the name Electronic Arts. I'm sure the solution is inside the extracted .RAR file, but my downloads folder looks like this:
As you can see, anything inside the files is inaccessible because my computer cannot open a "File" -- not in Microsoft Word, the Internet, or even UTorrent. I hope I'm making sense. I run Windows 10 on an Acer. Did I do something wrong? Is there a really obvious answer that I'm missing? Does anyone know how I might be able to fix this?
EDIT: I tried to run the #Crack application, to get this:
I was really excited to play this game! Any ideas?

First of all, when I open your posting I receive a message about malware.
Secondly have you tried to open # Installation Guide
Thirdly have you opened the folder MEDIEVAL
Edit:
I don't know where you've got your download from but it looks like something is terribly wrong
Throw it away and download again from a trusted website like G4TW.

Hello and welcome to the forum,
Are you sure the downloads finished 100% in your torrent client ? And the first screenshot in particular looks very strange indeed. This is what you got after you extracted from the .RAR file ?
Are you sure you downloaded from this page here ?
https://games4theworld.org/downloads.html ----> the official G4TW downloads page.

That is even stranger than the OP's problem above, albeit off-topic. Maybe it has to do with this here ?

If the problem persists, feel free to open a new topic in the "Off-topic" section, and include screenshots of the error(s), if possible.

Re: Sims Medieval: .RAR extracted as a .file? [SOLVED]
@Tarac:
First of all, sorry about the malware warning, I don't know what that would be from!
Second of all I did and it opens a PDF, but I can't follow the instructions because I don't have an EA folder in Programs(86).
Thirdly, yes I tried opening the application therein, but nothing happened -- no loading, no error message, as if I hadn't clicked anything at all.
@Carlos:
Yeah, I downloaded from the G4TW site. The torrent went quickly, hit 100% in about an hour, the extraction went fine, but it left me with nothing. I guess the only thing to do is uninstall and try again?
Thanks for your replies!

Second and thirdly yes I checked both of those, no change.

Just to make sure, you did use WinRAR for extracting...? You can get WinRAR 5.21 from that downloads-page too. And no worries about the malware-thing; that is (most likely) not your fault, but the result of some strange search engine algorithms and/or "well-meaning" security-software.

I did use WinRAR but maybe I'll look for an updated version. Thanks for your help, I'll let you know if anything changes!

@Carlos
Well, I installed the WinRAR update from your download site, deleted the Medieval torrents from both the UTorrent cache and the folder I'd saved them too. Emptied the recycle bin, even. Downloaded the base and expansion .RARs from the G4TW download page, and now this:
which happens if I try to extract either of them. Any ideas? I'm sorry I'm having so much trouble!

Are you sure the download finished 100% in uTorrent ? Also, if you have the torrents under "seeding" in uTorrent, right-click on the torrents and choose STOP. Then right-click again and choose §force re-check". After the re-check is done, try re-extracting the .RARs.
Another idea could be to re-download using a different torrent client (like Bittorrent, BitComet, etc.), but at that point I can't suggest more, I'm sorry.

Re: Sims Medieval: .RAR extracted as a .file? [SOLVED]

Re: Sims Medieval: .RAR extracted as a .file? [SOLVED]
I'm not entirely sure how I did it, but the Pirates and Nobles extension downloaded fine, and after extracting the .RAR the torrent gave me, I have what looks correct to me:
But still no luck with the base game. Re-torrented and everything, still ends up like this:
Am I doing something wrong or is there a problem with the download link? This is the same problem I had at first, but the expansion worked fine this second try. The fix is also downloaded and extracted, just no luck with the base game.

I don't think that any download link is "broken". What happens if you right-click on that file and choose open with -> WinRAR ?

Re: Sims Medieval: .RAR extracted as a .file? [SOLVED]
Third time's the charm! Uninstalled and re-torrented, now extracting what seems to be in perfect order. Thanks for all the help
