Fully playable elixir store?

Hello everyone!

I was wondering if there is a way to create a playable elixir store?
What I mean when I say that is - A store that is owned/run by your sim household where theses sims need to create elixir to sell in thier in their shop and this is how they make a living.

Just to be clear, I'm NOT looking for the elixir store from supernatural that allows your sim household to buy elixirs I want to run the store.

Any ideas how I can do this?

By default, and as far as I am aware of, there is no such "open for business"-type of thing in The Sims 3, where you can run a store, and people come to you to buy stuff. There was the "Open for business" EP in The Sims 2, and a similar concept was re-introduced in The Sims 4.

But in TS3, you cannot do that. However, there may be mods that can help here, but I'm not even sure about that, I'm sorry.

Well, I hear things about the savvy sellers collection that has a similar effect if that not the same sort of thing or am I mistaken?

I know you can have this "Savvy sellers set" on your home lot, and then invite sims over to your place (for them to buy your stuff). Not sure if and how that would work with commercial lots though.

You may have to buy a commercial lot from the town hall, and then rebuild it to your liking. Then put a cash register, shelves, rugs, pedestals and so on. You'll then also need to place your elixirs in the store.

But as said, I never tried the latter (I believe). I once tried this on my home lot, and it wasn't the same as a real shop. Good luck anyways !

Try buying the entire elixir store in that "Supernatural"-neighborhood (can't recall the neighborhood's name right now Razz

). I don't know what the lot's price is, in the town hall. If it's too expensive, cheat yourself some simoleons for now.

Once your sim has purchased the elixir store in the town hall, you can build/buy on it without cheats. I may be wrong, but you should be able to click somewhere on the ground, and then select build/buy-mode. If not, just go into edit-town and edit the lot there.

Once in build/buy-mode, purchase a cash register (Sort by function -> Misc. electronics) and a shop door (build mode -> doors). On the door you can set hours for the shop the be open, and from the cash register you seem to be able to also hire a clerk. Then see what happens: i.e. if other sims really come to your shop.

If it's not working the way you expected, exit the game without saving if you like.
