Sims 3 Update Issue [SOLVED]

Hello, Im new to this forum (but lurking for a quite a bit) I've downloaded all G4TW sims 3 torrents. I installed and cracked the base game with no issues. When I try to install Generations It gives me this message

The sims 3 needs to be updated before this product can be installed. setup will now attempt to update the sims 3.

I'm not sure if i should update manually or what. If I do update manually which patch would I need? I'm just trying to be very clear because I dont wanna have to reinstall. I've had sims 3 before from you guys (with no problems) but I dont remember this message showing up.

"setup will now attempt to update the sims 3."? So I assume the launcher will update for you. No need to do anything, right?

Right, I was just double checking to be 100% sure if it was ok to download updates directly from EA. Thank you so much for your help
