Hello,
did you correctly uninstall The Sims 4 Trial by going to Origin -> My Games and then right clicking on The Sims 4 Trial and uninstall.
Maybe, something from this guide will help you even if you don't have problems listed in topic'sname.

Hello @icbogue,

What happens if you go to C:\Program files (x86)\The Sims 4\Game\Bin and then run the TS4.exe ? The error you got above ?

Also, if you want to play the 64-bit version of the game, move that install folder OUT from that location. For example, under C:\Program files. Then run the TS4_x64.exe.

@The_gh0stm4n, @simmer_tony, I have already uninstalled and it removed the whole C:\Program Files (x86)\The Sims 4 folder. I guess I'm getting the crack again. Goodbye computer storage space Sad.

Also, please make sure Origin is not running while you launch the game.
Otherwise you will get conflicts...

Thanks, @Shamrock. After the trial was over, I uninstalled Origin completely. I'll just install TS4 again like I said above.

That is actually NOT the default install location where Origin saves its games, so you may have done something wrong on that end. But yes, ultimately you will have to attempt to re-install your pirated Sims 4...

The default location where Origin saves its games is C:\Program files (x86)\Origin Games, and the legit Sims 4 and the pirated version can "co-exist" on one and the same computer, provided that both games are installed in separate folder locations.

@The_Gh0stm4n I knew that. I wonder if Origin checks to see if there's a pirated Sims 4 before installing the trial. Seems weird but it might be possible. I checked the directory that you said, and there wasn't anything there. Then I went to the cracked sims 4 folder and it showed some things were added on the day I installed the trial.
