Island paradise freeze. [CLOSED]

Hi! I have a problem, I play Island Paradise and it freezes every 5-10 seconds for anywhere from 1-10 seconds, or longer. It's not unplayable but it is really annoying.

I applied the ultimate fix to try and sort it but it didn't seem to do anything.
I have all the expansion packs installed.

Not all of the game freezes - the water, rain, music, even the green diamond keeps spinning. However, the sims freeze and I can't access any of the controls i.e. changing time speed or switching between tabs. Also, if a swim goes swimming and I cancel the action they tend to swim everywhere which then means they take ages to get anywhere! Very frustrating.

Can somebody please help me!?

other expansions installed: Pets, supernatural.
i don't have any download conten etc. it is all clean.

Hello and welcome to the forum,

The most common explanation for this is that the "Isla Paradiso"-neighborhood is the most demanding of all EA worlds, in terms of system resources. For a start, try lowering some graphics settings and see if that already makes some difference.

About the thing with swimming and cancelling the action, I'm not sure. If these things happen, press CTRL + SHIFT + C to open the cheat console. Now enter the following cheat:

resetsim firstname lastname

Put the name of your sim that you want to reset, in "firstname lastname". After typing the cheat, hit enter. It can take a little while, but normally, your sim should then be reset near the entrance of your house. Good luck for now !

I had similar issues. Lowering graphics helps. I also realised the problem was due to routing issues especially with families living in houseboats. I moved most of the houseboat familes to land.

If you like using mods Nraas overwatch and error trap works. (Just don't use error trap when your Sim goes to UNI)I also used a fixed island Paradise map from ellacharmed on MTS that fixes most routing issues.

It didn't help really, maybe it is my laptop being a slow b*tch. My family doesn't live on a houseboat. They live on the main island.

Tho, the floor of the main land now seems to be a bit odd. So i guess that the main problem is my laptop?

You could also try playing in the other neighborhoods, and comparing the "performance" there to your experiences with Isla Paradiso. Is the gameplay in the other neighborhoods working (relatively) fine ? If yes, it could indeed be due to computer performance issues.

Also, about this thing with the graphics of the ground, that happens with me too right at beginning of loading into a savegame, but it mostly goes away after a little while already. These textures need to be loaded in. If that doesn't happen, or with a big delay, then it could be another indicator that your computer is having a hard time with the game.

Lower in-game settings when you open game. Indeed, Isla Paradiso has many routing and performance issues and is least optimized of all towns in The Sims 3.
