Move Sims 4 game from old to new computer. Empty Move Sims 4 game from old to new computer.

Hey guys and girls,
(sorry, english is not my native language)
this may be a stupid af question but I really don't know how this works, so I'll just ask you guys.
I'm building a new pc next week and I'd like to transfer my Sims 4 data over to my new computer. Because I saw a few people claiming, that they received DMCA stuff and notices, I don't really feel comfortable redownloading the torrents. I used Peerblock all the time, but I don't really know if that would really help. I still have the setup files for Sims 4 Vanilla. Is it enough to put that on a USB stick, transfer it over, install that and then just copy and paste all of the sims 4 folders ? Like the GP and EP stuff ? Sadly I don't have the install files for the DLC on my PC anymore.

I know how to transfer my mods and sims (tray), but I don't know if that copying thing will work, cause of the registry and all.

Thanks in advance guys and girls.

Hello and welcome to the Forum @UsualSuspect,

Indeed, no need to re-download. You can simply copy/paste the folders from your computer, and transfer them to the other. For a start, copy the folder under C:\Program files (x86)\The Sims 4, and transfer it to the new computer. On the new computer the folder can be put in the same location, or a different one.

Then you do the same with the folder under Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4. This one contains your saves, mods, etc.

Once you transferred all these folders, you can simply start the game - on the new computer, without the need for installing it once again. You should, however, make sure to pre-configure all your anti-virus exclusions on the new computer, before you 'import' these folders.

Another tip: if you have an Ethernet cable, you should be able to connect the two computers directly, with the cable, and transfer files back-and-forth.

And yes, too bad that anti-piracy organizations are "zeroing in" more and more. But no worries, the Forum as well as the other Games4theworld sites are located on servers very far away from US jurisdiction. Of course, it doesn't necessarily help people from the US, who also download our torrents, because they will still get the warning letters, but there is at least some hope. I guess 'some hope' is still better than no hope at all? Very Happy
