CTD when I click the play triangle - Solved Empty CTD when I click the play triangle - Solved

Post by Guest Thu 23 Nov 2017, 18:25

I installed according to "MUST READ" instructions.  Including deleting the game folder in step 07. I moved the game folder to c:\Program Files.  I start the game with the 64bit executable.  I have set properties of the executable to run as Administrator.  I have set  DEP to Essential Windows... only.  I have not installed any mods, but plan to, If I can get it running.

The game crashes whenever I try to enter CAS or start a new game.  I renamed my Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4 folder.  I restarted, and it still crashes whenever I click the new game button.

Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit
AMD FX9590
16GB Ram
AMD Radeon R9200

Any help would be appreciated.

CTD when I click the play triangle - Solved Empty Solved

I uninstalled, and re-installed.  In order to completely remove everything on the uninstall, I had to download a program called LockHunter, and "unlock" the sims executable.  When I re-installed, I only started the game once, after the first setup in step 2.  I did not run the game again until after I was completely through the guide.  Hope this helps anyone else with this issue.
