Game minimizing upon startup and installation manager crashing

Since I downloaded expansions from here, my game always goes to a black screen on startup, loads for a few minutes, and then minimizes itself. The thing is, mine will load for a few seconds, and then once the sims 3 logo shows up on my taskbar i can open the game and play as normal. I've been playing the game like that just fine for months now, but since the last time i closed the game, it minimizes and i cant get it back open, and im forced to close it through the task manager. I downloaded one mod after the last time i played, a window set from mts, but even after deleting it my game will not open. I also attempted to download some things from tsr after downloading the windows, but the installation window loads indefinitely, and then crashes when i click on it. I have no idea whats going on, does anyone know what to do?

edit: I forgot to mention, since the last time i played, when i open the launcher i get a script error. It still allows me to use the launcher, it just asks me whether or not i want to continue running scripts on the page.

I do have a legit base game copy (and legit late night and high end loft stuff, if that makes a difference), but it says my game is updated to 1.67

Ah, is there anything that you know to do about the problem? I've had similar problems before and all ive had to was restart my computer, but ive restarted it several times and it hasnt worked
