You have to have a legal base game of The Sims 4 on Origin, and use that one to access the gallery and download stuff. You can then transfer the items (saved into the "Tray"-folder under Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4), to your pirated game. See for example the discussion here to learn more about the issue:

help? solved
I'm extracting (I've tried 2 times now) and it keeps saying that the header is corrupted? It automatically stops extracting after that. Help?
Edit: I found that my torrent was not done downloading yet so WinRAR was saying the file was corrupted because it could not be found. I'm now seeding

You MUST have a TS4 base game on Origin, in order to be able to connect to the Gallery. See also @SeoY's post here:

Re: The Sims 4 City Living - discussion part II.
You can only connect to the gallery if you have a legit game. The only way to get the gallery creations for the pirated game is :Saffirah666 wrote:Hello! ive done downloading (am seeding rn) and everything is working perfectly! HOORAYY! 1. You have on a another computer a legit game that you use to download from the gallery and then you move the tray files to your pirated game
2. Someone who has a legit game downloads what you want from the gallery and sends the files to you.
3. You go to sites like the sims resource and others to download what they have to offer. I for instance am also uploading my sims on this forum so that people can download them. That's the only way you can share your creations if you have a pirated game.
Previously this didn't work if the sims creations were made after the late October update, because the legit game was no longer compatible with the pirated ones(different versions, new lot traits, new city living traits,...). But I think that now this problem is resolved and I think this is what the person who got the "gallery to work" was referring to.
Edit: Just downloaded a lot from SIms resource which was build with the new content. Works perfectly fine

will there be any alternate links for the download in the future?
I'm asking before I keep trying to get my brother(s) to agree to torrent it.

Nope, we're not planning to add any more of these "direct download links" from now on. Is there a reason you would prefer such a direct download?

For instance I would prefer one direct download because you know from the start what your download speed is and for me at least it works better, but I understand you don't wanting to do so if there have been problems in the past. So if someone could seed now, please, do so. Anyway, thank you for the repack and the torrent!

My brothers don't torrent anymore and I found it easier to do the links for adding updates (also because I was never taught by my brothers how to do torrents, so even if I tried I'd be paranoid)

If lots of people download at once (as is the case with brand-new stuff) from MEGA, MediaFire, GoogleDrive or the like, speeds aren't going to be that great either. And chances are then, downloads are going to be interrupted. Which in turn will mean you may have to start from scratch with downloading.
About the "working better", it may also be possible that your router ports are not configured properly, which can also hamper 'performance' of torrent clients. Or maybe your ISP is otherwise interfering to throttle or even block p2p-filesharing. In this sense, using direct downloads could indeed be better.
Our opinion (and official stance) is, torrents have more advantages, than they have disadvantages. Should torrenting not be an option for you, you may be able to find an alternative download from another source, in the form of a direct download.
Edit: I can't mention specific examples for alternative direct download-releases, but googling may help you here.

Re: The Sims 4 City Living - discussion part II.
I know and there's the advantage of pausing and restarting a download without damaging files, so I'll try to be patient. Eventually it'll download completely, and I'll try to seed as much as I (and my connection) can.The_gh0stm4n wrote:Our opinion (and official stance) is, torrents have more advantages, than they have disadvantages. It'll be a bit hard to find any trusting people who provides alternate downloads, G4TW having that option was a big reason I joined as I didn't have to bug my siblings to Sims 4 updates.
But if anyone knows anyone trust worthy with alt links to download sims 4 updates, I'd appreciate the PM's (I do not want to download the base game all over again so please, if there's any other sites out there that does it update style.)
