Able to move mods folder to another drive?

Hi there I wasn't sure where to post this, I didn't have permission in the PC fix? but i'm in a rut... So I was wondering if there was a way to navigate the mods folder to another drive? I'm running out of space in my main hard drive and have an extra hard drive I would like put the mods in or if i can place the entire game folder and files in the extra hard drive?

You can move the install folder The Sims 4 to any place on your computer or (external) hard discs.
It is also possible to create a new folder elsewhere for your mods but that's a bit more complicated.

You can use junction or symbolic links to create a "shortcut" of a folder.

Here is an exemple:

1. Move your "Mods" where you want and copy the Mods folder path (here is supposed to be "D:\Something\Mods for The Sims 4");

2. Go into "Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4" and open CMD (command prompt) with administrator privileges here. You can open CMD with administrator privileges and type pushd "%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4" in CMD to change the current path manually if the current path is not your TS4 saves folder. Be careful because "The Sims 4" is for english version;

3. Write mklink /d "Mods" "D:\Something\Mods for The Sims 4" and push on Enter keyboard button to validate and create a symbolic link;


-> "Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods" is now a redirection to "D:\Something\Mods for The Sims 4".

I just wanted to add, my opinion is unless your "Mods"-folder is REALLY big (several GBs), you should leave that folder where it is. But indeed, you can freely move the actual installation-folder of The Sims 4 anywhere you like, and still play the game.
