Hair Discoloration after installing Ultimate Fix Update Only.

Hi guys! 

So I'm having an issue with the CC Hair in the sims. I recently downloaded the Ultimate fix as I have always done the past few years. 
I did a process of elimination to see if perhaps the issue was recent CC that I had just downloaded. I removed it and the issue still remains. Please take a look at the images below! 





Do you guys have a clue of what could be causing the issue? I've never had this type of an issue.

Did you install the Get to Work -> Get together -> City Living (in that particular order)? And did you afterwards apply that "Update-Only-Fix"? If so, that was wrong.

The Update-Only fix was/is intended only for people who have a slow internet, and who cannot easily download the other torrents. If you intend to use the major DLC, you should re-apply the Get to Work -> Get together -> City Living. 

Note: the latest game update (Ultimate fix) is technically "embedded" already in the City living torrent.

This "laptop mode" seems to be causing problems for some users.

Re-apply Get to Work first. Continue with Get together, then finally re-do the City Living. Although, I am thinking that this particular CC problem is maybe caused by something else. Did you use WinRAR as well, for extracting the stuff? You should only use WinRAR.

  I did not use WinRAR. I downloaded a zip file folder from TSR and used 7-zip. I'll download WinRAR. To re-apply, should I uninstall and re-install? gosh I feel so stupid lol It's been a while since I played

I meant, you have to use WinRAR for extracting the .rar files of Games4theworld.   As for the CC, it depends on the filetype of these downloads. There are .7z files, for which you need to use 7-zip. Then you have .zip and .rar files, for which you can use WinRAR.

You just have to re-copy and re-paste the Get to Work -> Get together -> City Living, over your install folder of The Sims 4, and of course overwrite existing files and folders when prompted.

If that still fails, feel free to link the CC hairstyles you downloaded, so that me and any other interested users can test them ourselves, in the game.   Indeed, good luck, and keep us posted!

I want to confirm with you before I **** the game up lol

I still have the original .rar files do you suggest I extract it with winRAR and then copy and paste each in to the install folder individually? also, do I have to run the game in between? or just copy + paste + replace in the order you said?

No need to run the game in-between, just apply (copy/paste) the items in the order given above, and you're good.

Alright, that didn't help   the game runs just fine but the issue remains. Am I gonna have to remove all the hairs and put them on one by one to see if that's the issue?

As said above, feel free to link to these CC hairstyles here. Next time I get to play TS4, I will test them myself (and any other interested team member and/or regular user can do the same if they want).

Just to give you an update and save you the trouble. I have gone ahead in the mean time and removed all of the hairs added recently and the issue remains even with CC hair that was added early on this year that was working before. 


I should also mention that I recently installed the WickedWhims MOD along with animations. I'm going to start removing everything I've added recently to see what's causing this ridiculous problem! I will update!

I've removed ALL of the recently downloaded MODs and the issue remains. I'm all out of ideas as to what could be causing this issue Why.

Hello again and sorry for the slightly belated reply,

I only tested the first three hair you posted (the ones from 'Stealthic'). So this is what showed up for me.












So no apparent issues with those 3 Stealthic-hairstyles. You said you used a different program than WinRAR for extracting. Also when you installed the base game? Even if the subsequent DLCs were extracted using WinRAR (Get to Work, Get together, City Living), it is possible that the base game was extracted with something different.

If all else fails, try this. Remove your install folder of The Sims 4 entirely, and start afresh. At first with installing the base game - and this time you should use WinRAR on that as well. Then you continue with Get to Work -> Get together -> City Living, again using WinRAR for the extraction.

Also double-check under your Game Options -> Graphics that the box "laptop mode" is unchecked.
