Help! "Pack download in progress" - Parenthood Empty Help! "Pack download in progress" - Parenthood

Post by Guest Thu 29 Jun 2017, 07:14

I keep getting the loading message "pack download in progress - you will receive a notif once the download is complete". It lets me enter the world selection screen and select my family but then I'm met with an endless loading screen. I've tried everything. I've followed all the instructions on installing the Sims 4 step-by-step. I've renamed the "Game" folder to "Game_" then ended up deleting it altogether and installed the new "Game" and Language strings folder. I've deleted then reinstalled the Parenthood pack. I moved the Sims 4 installation folder to my desktop then tried to run as administrator. Still nothing!

Have you tried updating to Fitness as well? When you deleted the Parenthood pack, did you delete all the correct contents or somehow deleted from other EPs/SPs as well?

Remember to rename the Game folder before copy + pasting the Parenthood EP, followed by Fitness stuff.

Hi, I've installed fitness now as well, still receiving the "pack download in progress message". I have the parenthood pack installed via Utorrent so I deleted it through that then re-installed through G4TW. When I re-installed the Parenthood pack the "Game" folder had been renamed.

Update: I hovered my mouse over the little stuff pack icons on the main menu and it says everything is 'owned' except for vampires and bowling stuff - 'download to use'. I guess parenthood isn't the problem?

Hi,

Try re-installing Vampire pack again. It's better not to delete any torrent files till the game works so you can install and re-install easily.

Copy + paste your Vampire EP followed by Parenthood + Fitness. Remember to rename the folder again just in case the endless loading appeared afterwards.

I see that is odd though. Is your Vampire pack corrupted during the downloading/extraction process?

When I was in the progress of making downloads per every single DLC I encountered this problem very often.
The folder The Sims 4 in Documents\Electronic Arts contains details of all DLC's installed.
When you then delete a DLC, the program thinks that you still have it and shows a message that the missing DLC will be downloading (which of course never happens because you are not connected to Origin).

The only way to get rid of it is renaming the folder The Sims 4 in Documents\Electronic Arts to f.e. The Sims 4_Old and start your game again from scratch.

Not sure? Possibly the extraction process because I've already downloaded a new Vampire pack off the site and like I said am still running into the same issue.

I never deleted any DLC's though? When I got the error message first I had been playing the game already for about a week with everything up till City living installed and had no problems. Then I decided to install the Vampire pack and the Parenthood pack and that's when the message first appeared. I tried to do what you said though and I renamed my old Sims 4 folder and installed a new one with all the DLC's up to the Vampire pack and now I am receiving the Origin error message on that folder.  WhatDidUJustCallMe?

//EDIT

Ugh is there any way to remove the Parenthood and the Vampire pack from my old Sims file. I don't want to deal with these error messages anymore I just want to go back to playing it like I did previously.

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply. You can delete the two DLCs after installing up till Fitness stuff. Though, if you'd like. You can try to re-download the two EPs again from our download site and 'install' them again.(copy + paste).

Else, after you've installed till fitness, delete the folders containing the Parenthood + Vampire pack and run the game with a 'fresh' sims 4 folder.
