Update to continue? Empty Update to continue?

Hello everyone Smile I recently tried to download the sims 4 from the links provided within this site and when i move the files to the correct folder and install the game it tells me "The contents of your user data directory were created by a newer version of the sims 4 and cannot be loaded. Please update your game via Origin to play." How do i go about fixing this?

Hi there,


Sorry if this is late and no one got back to you. You can delete the GameVersion.txt in Documents\The Sims 4 and then run the game again.

hi, i had the same problem, and i deleted that file you said and now when i run the sims it says the sims 4 stopped working, check online for help. what should i do?

Please try keeping all discussions about the same game (TS4) in just ONE thread. You already opened a thread yourself earlier here:
