Sims 4 - Fitness Stuff (launch error/origin)

When I open The Sims 4, I get an error:

Unable to start:

Origin is currently not running. Please make sure that Origin is running before attempting to play The Sims 4.

But I have origin manually uninstalled and my firewall is also disabled.

Hi there,

Have you moved out your Sims 4 to Program Files or (x86)? Make sure your anti-virus and windows defender are disabled as well.

I have the same problem. I tried applying the ultimate fix, but I can't copy files to Bin because something related to "Permissions"

The 5 reasons for the Origin not running error:

1. Origin IS RUNNING !
2. Your game is installed within a folder Electronic Arts or Origin Games
3. Instead of making a shortcut from TS4 or TS4_x86.exe on your desktop, you copied the file
4. You copied your install folder out of Electronic Arts or Origin Games instead of moving it
5. Your anti-virus has disabled the crack (32-bits Windows only or when you start the game with TS4.exe)

I tried checking my quarantine section of antivirus, and I found one of the RLDOrigin files, I restored them and tried opening up the game again. Had to wait about 10 seconds but it started fine!

Hi, I wonder if you have found any solution?

I've already placed the ultimate fix and everything. Every time I try to open The Sims 4, Origin starts to update. If I close it the game tries to open but then shows "Origin is currently not running" error message. I've tried everything already:

- Changing the name of the folder from "The Sims 4" to "The Sims4". Didn't work.
- Placed all the exceptions in my anti-virus (they've always been there so no problems with that) Also it always worked perfectly with my anti-virus on tho..
- Tried running as administrator, didn't work.
- Install - Uninstall the whole game. No Success.

Including.. The game was working perfectly fine a few months ago. I stopped playing due to finals at college.. I had the Toddlers and vampires update on. When I tried to play BEFORE the Parenthood and Fitness the game had the Origin issue. I thought the Ultimate Fix with the new updates will fix it, but it seems like it was just messed up..

Please if there's any thread about this or any solution... This simmer is going crazy without playing.

Hey there,

Unfortunately installing the Ultimate Fix will delete your DLCs. If you have up till Fitness installed to your game, try replacing the .dll files here. Also take note, if you have origin installed, check your task manager to make sure it is not running in the background.

Alternatively, like Tarac mentioned, you can try to repair the game using ZLOrigin.

Hello! Well I tried everything possible to fix the game. I have good and bad news, so I'll start with the bad news.
ZLOrigin was a big failure, Only had 2 days working and now it doesn't work at all. Didn't recognize my sims 4 so I could repair it, but it did recognize my sims 3 and all expansions.. weird.
The good news is that I downloaded the Toddler's last update and followed the instructions, the good thing is that Origin doesn't open and update.. The bad part of this is that still giving the "Origin currently not running"...

So yeah.. At least Origin is not updating everytime now.. But I want to play. I've done everything to try to get that fix and no results. And no, Origin is not running in the background as you mention. Any help???

Unfortunately I can't comment anything regarding the ZLOrigin. What I've read from previous comments was to uninstall and re-install the zclient. Perhaps when @Tarac is online, he'll get back to you on that.

And regarding the origin error, it might be possible that anti-virus might quarantine it somehow when you switch it back on. I heard there's a couple of anti-virus that are really persistent in 'cleaning'. Lol. Avast is one of them if I'm not wrong. Also, check that your installation folder is at C:\Program Files (x86). If it is, try to move it to C:\Program Files instead.

Alternatively, try placing the .dll files here (ver 1.33) to your Game\Bin and see if the origin error still pops up.

When you open ZLOrigin it's obvious that neither Origin, nor the Origin Web helper should be active
