Sims stops working after newest install Toddler stuff. [SOLVED]
Hello,
My sims game has been working great for a long time and now that I've installed Toddler stuff and the error fix, it keeps saying Sims stopped working. It opens the game, I can see EA games logo, then Maxis and then The Sims but after that it stops working. It is now installed on my D: drive... Can you help me and tell me what can I do to fix it?

Have you tried a fresh The Sims 4 folder ?
Rename your existing The Sims 4 folder in Documents\Electronic Arts to The Sims 4_old
Now restart your game.
When it's working now, you can try and copy your folders tray and saves from The Sims 4_old to the newly created The Sims 4 folder

Yes, I have The Sims 4_old and a new one. I copied the files from the old one and now the game is in windowed mode but it still stops working when it gets to The title The Sims 4...
I changed the directory in regedit to be on D drive but something's missing. I'm guessing it's a little thing since it does open the game and then stops working.

Before you copied the files from the old one to the new, did it actually work ok ?

No, it's always the same thing, it barely starts working and then stops...

Could you post a screenshot on for your Sims 4 installation folder so that we can double-check if anything is amiss?

Everything looks like it's in place. Prior to Toddler's Stuff, it was working, yes? Was your installation path always at D Drive or was it moved recently? I'm not too sure about the registry change honestly, since I installed mine on my external hard disk and did not change anything. The only thing I can suggest is to download Your Uninstaller from our site here and then uninstall your game completely. After that, you can re-install the game again pack by pack, without changing the registry.

Re: Sims stops working after newest install Toddler stuff. [SOLVED]
The Sims 4 does not need a registry-entry.
All directories seem to be OK
Maybe try a fresh The Sims 4 folder in Documents\Electronic Arts by naming it The Sims 4_old

If you install Games4theworld's Sims 4 repacks, I believe if you install "up to" Get together, the game utilizes registry entries. But I don't remember for sure anymore. Around the time the method with changing the language in the RldOrigin.ini came out, the registry did not need to be tampered with (anymore).
From City Living onwards (and later DLC), you should indeed not need to worry about the registry anymore.

It was moved recently to D drive... I will try to uninstall everything and try again. Thank you. I will let you know if it works.

As the @The_gh0stm4n rightly stated, the G4TW downloads for the base game, Get To Work and Get Together create registry entries.
However when you MOVE your complete installation folder The Sims 4 to anywhere on your computer or external HDD, the game must still work.
Exceptions: Do not put your install folder in a directory Origin, Origin Games, Electronic Arts, ZLOrigin or ZLOrigin Games.

It works! I uninstalled everything and followed the instructions again for install and didn't change the registry. And it works even though it was moved to D drive. Thank you all
