Just downloaded Sims 4 and all the DLC, keeps well, somewhere between freezing and crashing

So i just downloaded the Sims 4 and all the DLC, as far as im aware i followed the instructions correctly but i have a pretty big problem, the game starts and it loads for a bit, everything seems fine, however, when i load into CAS i am greeted with a random sim, i can change their body part sizes and click on their face to zoom in etc. it seems that the only thing is, im missing everything else...

In the upper right corner only the sim community button even reacts, everything else i can just press and nothing will happen. I tried everything, turned the graphics down to the lowest on everything, tried running it on windows 8, turned off DEP. I don't know what to do to make this work at this point, is there any way to fix this? Did i do something wrong?
