Question about install location.

I'm not really sure where the best place to ask this question is, so I apologize in advance if this needs to be moved!

Due to running out of space on my c drive, would it be possible to move my games4theworld Sims 4 downloads onto a external without it breaking anything?

Yes it is possible.

Install The Sims 4 on C and MOVE (or select CUT) The Sims 4 folder to any location you want. Then proceed with installing DLCs. Note that The Sims 4 folder from My Documents can't be moved otherwise your game won't work.

A little addition to this, in theory you can move the folder under Documents\Electronic Arts to a different location, using symbolic links (see the corresponding tutorial for The Sims 3, which should work on any game though). There are also third-party tools that can help you create those symbolic links. I personally would not recommend using that procedure though, unless you really know what you are doing, AND your folder is extremely huge - e.g. because of many mods/CC - that you must move it away.

In general, you can also move the folder away in the old-fashioned manner. The game will still work (!), but in the original location a new folder "The Sims 4" will be created, with no savefiles, mods, CC, and so forth. Meaning, your old stuff won't be recognized anymore.
