Missing a certain UI when clicking on things

Hi all,

Just installed the The Sims 4 and all expansions. Can open the game and play with no errors. The only thing I am having an issue with so far is I cannot do certain tasks that open a certain UI. For example if I go to the fridge and click on "cook" or "bake", nothing happens. It won't bring up the window that has all of the food in it, and nothing is put into my queue. Same thing happens when I click "read" on a bookshelf, or when i click "chat with" on the phone. It seems like I have missing that UI that comes up after clicking on each of those tasks. Anyone know what could be causing this? I do not have any mods.
