Several problems after buying a new computer/monitor.

Heya,

I recently bought a new computer (2nd hand) and the day after a new monitor (because my old monitor did not fit)
After waiting a day and after setting up my monitor, I could finally use my new computer.

I did however come across a few problems that is probally software related.

1: I can't seem to make the sound on the monitor work (G-master GB2788HS, 27inch)
I tried several things, like changing the volume mixer from Loudspeakers (Green cable in the green slot) to Realtek Digital Output and Nvidia High Definition Audio.
The sound on my monitor has been set on it's loudest (line-in nor DisplayPort seems to give me sound) 
Normal sound just works (headphones and music from my 'trust' boxes)
I tried changing from DisplayPort to DVI-D but that also didn't work (which brings me to the 2nd problem)

2: When I plug in the DVI-D cable (with or without the DP plugged in) and start up the computer, my screen goes wierd (Black, background with snow, black, background with snow, etc)
But if I plug it out and then back in, thing are just normal again, until I restart my computer.


3: My last problem, which probally annoys me the most is that I need to log in on everything on Google Chrome (Google, facebook, some random other sites) when I close of the browser or restart my computer.
And yes, the settings about keeping the local data until the browser is closed, is turned off.

I am now using Windows 10 Professional
Videocard: GeForce GTX1070 FTW gaming

Edit: It seems that this website won't log me off when closing off Google Chrome, yet all others does including my google account
Edit2: Nvm, It's not as often but it does happen.
I am now using Opera browser and I have no Cookies problems there.

As for the Chrome problem, try going under the Settings, and then unfold the "Advanced". Scroll all the way down and look for "Reset - Restore settings to their original defaults". Follow the on-screen instructions and then exit/re-start Chrome. Then try the browser again. Should that not do the trick, you may have to consider uninstalling & re-installing Chrome; or indeed use a different browser.

I'm not sure about the monitor issue though. If you have a HDMI cable available, could you try using that cable to connect the PC & monitor? See if the same happens there.

In general, I don't know though. Unless it's a higher-end monitor, I myself prefer using another solution, which for me at the moment are loudspeakers.   It doesn't have to be anything fancy in my opinion; but most of these loudspeakers and even headphones tend to be made of a higher quality than built-in monitor loudspeakers.

The Google Chrome problem has been fixed, it seems that I shouldn't had unchecked the box to notify google about the changes.

No screen problems with the HDMI cable (Using one from my TV.) The audio on my monitor also worked.
It might've been my own fault as I changed the settings on the screen from 'Sound off: Off' to 'Sound off: On'
Or perhaps the HDMI cable had to be in first in order to it to work, I dunno.


What Settings should I use for the best quality? I'm currently on 32bits 48000hz (Studio quality) with my DisplayPort plugged in.

Now all is left is the DVI-D cable that gives me that Black screen, Background with snow and so on (Quite a few missed shots in order to make that pic xD)
Could it be that I have to alter some settings in order to not get that again, or might that purely be the cable's fault (It does work after plugging out and back in until I restart my computer)

Could it be that you did not switch your monitor to the settings or input for DVI-D ?
If at all possible you should set the input to Auto
(Somewhere on your monitor there is a serie of switches, often right bottom front (IIyama) or on the bottom of the screen (Acer))

If you wish, it's not going to hurt I guess. But I can tell from experience, as a layperson you probably won't notice that much of a difference between e.g. 48,000Hz and something smaller like 41,000Hz.

I think my monitor already automaticly changes it's settings to the one that is plugged in (That's why I immediately heard sound from the monitor when I plugged in that HDMI).
The wierd part it that the monitor works fine as long as I'm not starting up my computer with it.

What about 48000hz to for example 96000hz?

Could it be possible that your computer has 2 video cards, 1x Intel and 1x Nvidia ?

Rightclick on the windowslogo
select Device management
then open Display adapters
It should show your Nvidia but maybe also an additional one.

That additional adapter will be used when you start your computer unless you change the settings in the Nvidia configuration (rightclick on an empty space on your desktop).

Nope, I don't have a 2nd Videocard in my computer. only the Nvidia Geforce GTX 1070.

I have changed my screen hz to 120hz, but I haven't found anything about changing my nvidia settings regarding the DVI-D (Exept for the sound)

Maybe. But then again it also depends on the "source" audio of what you are listening to (CD/MP3 music won't sound much better), and the output equipment. If you like, feel free to try it, and let us know if you feel things sound better by choosing a higher Hz value.

Edit: you should be doing more than fine with 48,000 Hz.
