Crash Burn Death Destruction

Alright so I've scoured lots of threads and attempted to find a fix before I posted this but I guess I must have failed

Game Crashes like....every single time I leave create a sim.
Fresh install. Game works fine until I try and load into the pick a neighborhood screen and then it just closes. 

i followed the guide. installed the update. now i'm just floundering like a tiny little fish.

Like I'm not doubting your abilities or anything but the game works fine until I get to loading into the worlds screen. I also only download one at a time so that I know I'm putting them in right but sure I can try that to when I get out of class tonight.
