the sims 4 world select empty after 1.46.18.1020

hi! this is my first ever post so i hope i'm doing this right! 

my game was fine until the update after seasons, where now my worlds are gone. i've tried for hours to fix this, but alas   i think it's something to do with my tray? i tried renaming the electronic arts sims 4 folder in my docs, and the game generated a new one and when i made a sim to move in the worlds were there again. then when i moved the tray folder from the old one into the new one so i'd have my families, the same thing happened again. ideally i don't want to make them again. 

i tried using the validator tool to try and figure it out myself what i've done wrong, except i don't want to mess anything up by deleting something i'm not sure about. i know game/bin/core/winhttp.dll is meant to be gone, so that's deleted now.

Your data/client/magalog.package file is corrupted. Get the proper one from Update 1.46.

and delete those files too:
game/bin/core/imageformats/msvcp100.dll
game/bin/core/imageformats/msvcr100.dll
game/bin/core/imageformats/msvcr100d.dll
game/bin/core/msvcp100.dll
game/bin/core/msvcr100.dll
game/bin/origins.ini
game/bin/python/deployed.zip
game/bin/rld.dll
game/bin/ts4.par
