Hello, New user here in serious need of help here. I have reinstalled The Sims 3 onto my current computer and have been trying to get it set up for the last 4 or so hours. I have successfully gotten a working pirated copy of this game in the past, so I am not sure what I might have done wrong this time. I referred to the guide for installation here on the forum correctly, even checking on it as I went along to make sure I skipped nothing.

1. Got the Base Game and Installed it
2. Applied the Manual Patch
3. Got the Seasons Expansion to start off with (I am planning to install more if I can get this working)
4. Downloaded the Ultimate Fix Crack from the link on this forum
5. Dragged and Dropped the Crack in the correct location in the game files and replaced accordingly
6. Tried Booting up the game with TS3W annnddd.. Error

I have dug through other forum posts relating to this issue and attempted fixes suggested by the moderators, Such as reinstalling the game, re-applying the manual patch and then re-applying the crack, Used only the Crack from the '# Crack' File and so on. The problem STILL persists. I can't seem to find an answer here for this issue. Is it perhaps that I have done all of this on an External Hard Drive and not (C:)? Putting these files on (C:) is NOT an option for me on this computer. Is there a way to get this to work on an external hard drive? or must I use (C:)? If I do, please clarify this for me. If not, please help me fix this issue. I miss this game and seriously would like to play without having to shell out my money to EA, I have no respect for them anymore.

TL;DR, I have The Base Game and Seasons, Even after following the installation guide twice and looking for help in other posts on the forum I cannot find the help I need. Please Help.

You can have the game on any (external) drive; the problem that not many people are aware of is though, that these standard installers...don't work very well, to put it nicely. If you 'merely' select an external/non-C install location, the installer will simply put the files there in one huge pile of mess.

You have to create folders manually, for the base game and each DLC that you intend to install. See this here for more information:

Important: once you un-installed your current installation (yes, you must do that), re-boot the compute first. Then create folders manually. After that when you start up the installer, make sure to specifically select the custom-folder for whatever you're trying to install. So that the installer actually ends up putting the files - in the correct folder.
