THE SIMS 3 COMPLETE HELP (0x024e424f) [SOLVED]

Hi,
I downloaded a torrent for the base game with 8 expansion packs. Followed instructions as given. I got service intitialization failed 0x024e424f right off the bat.
So I came here, read about the whole thing that could possibly fix all problems and I downloaded the ultimate fix. BUT it was for the sims medieval? I opened it and got files for medieval.
What the heck am I doing wrong. This used to be so easy, not sure if it's just getting more complicated or I'm just getting more stupid.

Hello,
You simple downloaded the wrong fix. Get this one in stead.
At the moment is says "not working" but that simply means that it's not working with the latest game version, 1.34. If you patched to 1.33, this fix will do fine. Use the manual patch if you haven't updated your game yet. And please, doublecheck your game version as shown in the image below.
