Integrating Pirated DLCs with the Legit Base Game? (The Sms 4)
Hello, there. I have been a patron on this website for a long while, and first off, I would like to thank the team for providing us with reliable copies; that is a rare quality in the majority of pirated games out there. I have been using the pirated copy of The Sims 4 along with every single DLC to date from this website. I have been getting help from this website through my friend, because I was unable to use my G4TW account for some reason. Now, I am coming to the main topic: I just found out that the base game is available for free on Origin. I logged into my super-old, dormant Origin account and got the game for free. I downloaded it through the Origin store on the browser, not through the Origin app, as the pirated game prompts me to remove Origin. I have not ran it yet, for fear of causing some sort of trouble or getting my account suspended if they (somehow...?) detect that a pirated version is available on the PC or something like that.
So, now, what I would like to know is if it is possible to somehow integrate the pirated DLCs into the legit base game? I do not know if this matters, but I used the all-in-one download back when the freelancer career dropped, and then stacked the next individual update on top of it (the one that fixed the CC items' names appearing as "DEBUG" in build mode, I think).
I tried to search the forums for a related topic, but I found nothing. I do apologize if I missed something. Otherwise, I would really appreciate a response, thank you!

Welcome to the Forum and thanks for the friendly words,
Basically: if you apply cracked DLCs "on top of" an Origin version of the game, the entire game installation will become pirated. And consequently you will lose access to the Gallery.
I'm assuming you want to actually keep using the Gallery on the Origin-version? I'm (almost) sure you do.
Even though it takes away more filespace, the best course of action in my opinion is to have the Origin and cracked installations completely separate from each other, and in two different filepaths.

Well, that does make sense. Thanks so much for letting me know, now I will not go ahead and experiment with it or something.
As for the Gallery, I would like using it, but I also download stuff from the Gallery on the browser (though rarely, I am more into creating stuff myself than downloading it) with the aid of the Tampermonkey script for it. Of course, on the legit version, it would be much easier to access it. I have always wanted to share my creations with others. I can not do that with the pirated one, since people would see "CODEX" and freak out and report me. I do wish there was a way I could claim ownership of my work I did on the pirated through the legit version. I do feel like it is impossible, as the items used from DLCs most likely will disappear on the legit game and thus will also not appear for others when I upload them. But yes, Gallery is one of the reasons.
Even though it takes away more filespace, the best course of action in my opinion is to have the Origin and cracked installations completely separate from each other, and in two different filepaths.
This bit confuses me, sorry... Are they supposed to have different folders in Program Files? And what about the The Sims 4 folder in the Electronic Arts folder in Documents? I would appreciate a link to a helpful resource or more clarification, thank you.

Basically it's quite simple:
Install the legal game in C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4
Install or MOVE the cracked game to C;|Program Files (x86)\Cracked\The Sims 4
Both installations will use the same the Sims 4 folder in Documents\Electronic Arts.
Use the legal game for accessing the Galery only. Never save a session played in the legal version.
As Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 contains details of both versions, your downloaded items from the Galery are immediately available in your cracked version.

Personally, I keep the legit copy on my laptop for gallery access, and the G4TW copy on my desktop, that way I have both and don't have to worry about any mix ups or issues related to non-legal copies of the game.

Let me see if I got this right. If have the G4TW files installed (as directed) in program files/The Sims 4 and I picked up the free base game from origin I can install the free game and it will install into a different file path program files (x86) origin games/.Williew85 wrote:This bit confuses me, sorry... Yes, (if I understood you correctly).
The default install location for all Origin games is under C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin games.

Re: Integrating Pirated DLCs with the Legit Base Game? (The Sms 4)
Thanks The_gh0stm4n for the reply. That's what I was thinking. I assume that if I installed the free game it would have it's own start up shortcut and it would share the same CC folder. And I'm guessing that any origin updates would only affect the free version because of the path.
I'm sure the free version will have bugs and not be very playable because of mods that were made with expansion packs.

Back then I turned off (automatic) game updates through Origin because it would also affect my G4TW copy. But maybe that was because back then I had the G4TW installed under C:\Program Files (x86) as well.
When I moved it under C:\Program Files, Origin updates never affected my G4TW installation. Or maybe I'm mixing up cause & effect, and there is a different explanation for the issue. I don't really know.
Right now I can tell though, that updating through Origin can be done safely.
