Ordinary Sims 3 error (?)[SOLVED]

okay, i will tell you to the point. i downloaded sims 3 and the expansion pack from random places (as you know, they all pirate version). after i install them, they work. i can play sims 3. but, i made a mistake. i uninstall sims 3. luckily, i always make backup for the save. because of that, i uninstall all of the expansion pack. then, i reinstall sims 3 with all of the expansion packs. i got error 0x0175dcbb . but it fixed by reinstall and apply ultimate fix from this site. BUT i got new error -- 0x024e424f. now it is always error if i open TS3. i can open the launcher, becos it's only tell me EA download error. i've reinstall sims 3 with the tutorial from this site, use ultimate fix, delete mods, and (probably) any solution that recommended by moderator. finally, i disappointed. Embarassed

i install them in win 7:
sims 3 -- base game, sims 3 -- ambitions, sims 3 -- late night, sims 3 -- generations.
i put ultimate fix file from base game ,generation-pet-blahblah, and #crack to C:/Program Files/Electronic Arts/Sims 3/Game/Bin
i also put ultimate fix file from late night into C:/Program Files/Electronic Arts/Sims 3 Late Night/Game/Bin
i put ultimate fix file from ambition to C:/Program Files/Electronic Arts/Sims 3 Ambitions/Game/Bin
that's all what i can tell you, hope that all explain all the info
btw i'm from indonesia, i choose "from indonesia" when i asked in setup install. so i deeply apologize for my worse english Embarassed

Hello,
The new error you describe is usually caused by an incompatible crack, or incompatible mods. Since you have removed all your mods, lets assume its the crack.
You'll have to check 2 things.
Firstly, your base game version. This is done as shown in the image below.
Secondly, make sure its the latest fix you've got (updated january 25th).

thanks! probably it won't work because the base game only give result if the version only 1.21.123.011017 Embarassed

this is my fault. I don't read install instruction carefully Embarassed

. I download ultimate fix 1 weeks ago, so it doesn't spoiled Very Happy

btw where i must download the manual update? thx before Lady Embarassed

The manual patch can be found here, use it during the fix and this error should be gone.

Hello,
That's caused by a misplaced crack Wink

It can be solved by placing it in the correct folder, can you show a screenshot of the folder you copied it to?

i don't know the picture form, so i tell you the place:
first, i copy 2 files in Base Game to C:/Program Files/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Game/Bin
second, i copy 2 files in Ambitions to C:/Program Files/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 Ambitions/Game/Bin
third, i copy 2 files from master Suite&Pet&Town Life Stuff&generations to C:/Program Files/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Game/Bin
fourth, i copy 2 files from #Crack to C:/Program Files/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Game/Bin again.
the disc authorization vanished, but i get new problem:

i don't know for this case. but i can create sunset valley new town. and i got new problem, i can't load 1 save. it says if the expansions pack isn't installed. but i see on the launcher. magically (lol) the EP generation gone! i think they all related with the bunch of errors in my case.

Hello,

Make sure you got the latest fix, I recommend redownloading and reapplying it.

Are you using mods/cc?

completely nope. btw i reinstall sims 3 with the EP. i install sims 3, update to 1.29, install ambitions etc etc. when i install sims 3 generation, especially when i install sims 3 with EPs, i unplug the connection. then, when i install sims 3 generations, looks like when step 1 some sentences that say if i must update sims 3 to the requirement to install sims 3 generations. but i can install EP generation, and when i check on the launcher, all of the EP looks like installed correctly. i still wonder why, after i download the ultimate fix, i copy again as i say before, then i start to launch the game. when i load a save, it says if error has occured to XXX.sims3 . probably like that. and, i can't load another saved game. now the problem become more complicated. Hello,

I remember having the same issue once, not sure how I fixed it. I think re-installation should do, but don't reinstall yet.
Try this:

1. Go to (My) Documents\Electronic Arts\
2. You'll see a folder called "The Sims 3".
3. Drag & drop this folder to your Desktop and remove it from the "Electronic Arts" in your Documents.
4. Start the game.

Ok, so you can make a new family and save it just fine? (Test it out a few times: restart game etc)
But, you can not use the old savegames?

But if you're getting the same error as before, there's still something wrong with the crack. Chances are that once that's fixed, you'll be able to use your save games.

when i load yesterday saved game, it's start to crash again. any solution? it's start to annoying Ordinary Sims 3 error (?)[SOLVED] 2279017149

i try to rename xxx.sims3 folder to xxx.sims3.old then i rename xxx.sims3.backup to xxx.sims3 . i also found meta.data in xxx.sims3 (after i renamed xxx.sims3.backup) i didn't find any .bad file. but they didn't work. i load the new save game, it's loading, then start to 'serious error" again. lol i'm frustated

btw i reinstall again and backup TS3.exe and TSLhost.dll
and what must i do? i also backup TS3.exe, TS3W.exe and TSLhost.dll after update to 1.29
probably must i copy one of them? Question

or, must i delete relevant file, then copy paste files from #crack? probably anyone can fix wrong step to install sims 3?
-I install sims 3
-Then, I update to 1.29
-I install sims 3 -- ambitions
-I install sims 3 -- generations
-~~I install sims 3 -- late night~~ (now i refuse install sims 3 late night, becoz i think it doesn't interesting for me, though.)
-I copy all of the fix to each sims 3 folder as i say before.
-Last, i copy from #crack file to sims 3.
FYI, i overwrite all of the file to each folder. must i delete them before i copy the ultimate fix? confused

Ok here's what I'm thinking.... I've tried the win95 compatibility mode myself and that didn't go so well. I got a serious error with the advice to restart the game.
The win95 compatibility mode doesn't work for everyone and can, apparently, cause this error and, undoing compatibility mode in the properties isn't always enough. I found references to it in my registry even after uninstalling.
Anyway, where I'm going with this is here. This article describes how you can clear it out of your registry. Now, this one is for winzip, but the process is exactly the same for TS3 except for which entries to remove obviously Wink

You don't have to reinstall but if you've started it, that's no problem. Just install everything and if you're updated to 1.29, get the crack (from the fix) and copy it to the base game bin. Overwriting is ok, no need to delete the files first.
