Sims 1 stuck “loading” all the packs

When I start the game up it loads me in. Then it goes through loading the packs in game. But it has just loaded them again and again and I can’t close out the game or click on anything.

Did you use WinRAR for extracting the contents of the (.rar) archive file? Did / Do you have an earlier version of The Sims 1 installed, on your computer? Did you also try running the installer as Administrator?


Last time I (test-)reinstalled the game, the initial pack loading also took a little while to complete. Can't give an exact figure, but it was at least a couple of minutes on my end. Did you make sure to wait, let's say at least 5 minutes or a bit more?
