The Sims 2 Origin Ultimate Collection not saving?
After loading up the game, I can play more or less fine but when I click "save" and close the game the next time I open it my saved game just doesn't exist and the game acts like I have opened it up for the first time. Showing me tutorials and tips i have seen before. What could I do to fix this?

Hello @xWaterlily,
This here is the "userdata" of The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection, or what most people simply call "Documents-folder", in the context of The Sims:
If this folder is not there on your end, do a search on your C: drive, for either the folder name or a component inside of it (e.g. Accessory.cache). You can simply go under This PC => Local Disk C: => and then the top right corner. Type your search terms and hit enter. It's possible that some antivirus programs are moving the Documents-folder. If true on your end, you'd have to consider uninstalling your current antivirus, or find some option to make it stop moving your stuff around.
Are you using WinRAR for extracting the download? You should, if you haven't done so.
Another possibility are file/folder permissions issues. Try editing the permissions of your "Documents"-folder, as shown in the other topic here:

The guide was written for TS3, but you can apply the procedure on almost any folder.
Good luck for now!

Re: The Sims 2 Origin Ultimate Collection not saving?
Hey @The_gh0stm4n,
Okay so, I found the folder you mentioned. It is where is should be. I do have another sims 2 folder in there which I don't know why it is there because the only Sims 2 game I have installed is the origin ultimate collection which is also there too...
My D:/ is where my 'Documents' should be. This is in the correct place.
I added these folders to my antivirus program exceptions list, which normally works just fine for all the other Sims game I have installed from Games4theworld. Eg. Sims 4, Sims Medieval.
I do use WinRAR extract all my files, so shouldn't be any problems there.
In terms of the file/folder permissions issues, I went through the guide you sent and followed the instructions which I applied to the Sims 2 Ultimate Collections folder seen above.
I started my game again and was met with the same problem of having my save disappear again on starting the game for the 2nd time.
Just in case, I will add some pictures and more information on my files. It might be helpful.
Inside the 'The Sims 2' folder are these files :
Every folder is empty.
This is what my 'The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection' folder looks like :
Here is what my The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection installed directory looks like :
I'm not sure if any of this has to do with files missing which is why I'm showing this.
Thank you for taking the time out to help me. Hopefully we can fix this issue.

Re: The Sims 2 Origin Ultimate Collection not saving?
So my initial guess would be that you are experiencing the issue because you have your Documents folder is on the D: drive. Did you move it there yourself?
If you have a C: drive, can you try temporarily moving it, I mean the Documents-folder, back to C: drive?
If you don't have a C: drive, I believe you can rename drive letters. Use the magnifying glass in your bottom left part of the Windows screen/taskbar. Type in "disk management", and choose "create and format hard disk partitions (Control Panel)".
Note that this might have unforeseen consequences, and you may e.g. have to re-assign desktop shortcuts or other filepaths, of things. I don't think you have to resort to that, though.
P.S. the reason you have another "The Sims 2" folder under Documents is, because (likely) at some point in the past you had another version of TS2 installed. In my opinion that is the only explanation. You can safely delete the folder that says "The Sims 2".
