0x000007b error with 64 bits exe. [SOLVED]
Hi, this is my first time writing on this forum, but I've been reading it for a long time, and first of all I'd like to thank you for everything!
And now to the point. I have a problem. I've been able to play the sims 4 with all its expansions on my PC since forever, but a few weeks ago I had to format it because it was already starting to go slow.
Once I formatted it, I downloaded the base game pack with all the expansions that came out recently, along with the Legacy pack, to save time.
Well, when I tried to start as usual with the 64-bit exe, I got the error 0x000007b. However, the Legacy version worked perfectly for me.
I thought that it could be because of the way of downloading, so I have been downloading ONE BY ONE all the expansions following the order indicated in the post https://www.games4theworld.club/t21806-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-4-correctly-latest-version-1-61-15-1020-1-61-15-1520. Testing, in each download, if the game worked for me. And at no time I could open the game in 64 bits.
I started looking for solutions, and I've done the following:
- I have installed visual cc for 64 bits.
- I have installed direct X.
- I have put in exceptions of the antivirus all the folders in which the sims are/are downloaded.
And I still have the same problem. If I run them in the 32-bit version, they work. And, obviously, my computer is 64-bit.
Can you please help me? I'm desperate and I don't know what else to do.
Thank you in advance!

First, I would like to welcome you to the forum. I do believe that the problem with it was the choice of download for the Legacy Version, since it is made for 32 bit systems. However, to make certain I would tag @The_gh0stm4n and he would give you a definitive answer on this.

Hello @sarareon,
You should first of all ALSO install all of the 32-bit Visual C++ items. Sometimes though, you also have to 'activate' the .NET framework in the Control Panel.
Control Panel => Programs => Programs and Features => Turn Windows Features On or Off. Tick the boxes next to all .NET framework items that show up. You may be prompted to download/install further stuff, maybe re-boot the PC.
Good luck for now!

Well, after trying to activate and deactivate the nets as you proposed (because I had them activated, but just in case), the error persisted. But, I downloaded the visual cc of the year 2013 for 32 and 64 bits, that apparently I didn't have installed and... IT WORKED!
I am very happy!
Thank you very much!

Thank you for letting us know @sarareon. I should also write a small post about this problem under "Fixes", but in the meantime I'll go ahead and mark this topic as solved.
Have fun with the game!
