Issues with some DLC packs. [SOLVED] Empty Issues with some DLC packs. [SOLVED]

Post by Guest Sat 28 Mar 2020, 13:54

I downloaded the all DLC packs up to Tiny Living, the basegame and the update. Game runs fine until I try to install the following DLC: Cats and Dogs(The world doesn't show up and game gives me an error code.), Outdoor Retreat (Game crashes in CAS), and Strangerville (I get an infinite loading screen).

Without these packs, the game runs smooth, and I've tried re downloading these three packs and opening with 7zip as I read in another thread, but so far, nothing works. Please help.

Thanks.

Hello @Teslachick2,

Did you download the torrent version of the DLCs? If so, did you already try and do a "Force re-check" and/or re-download with a different torrent client? Or did you use the direct downloads? I don't have the files at hand right now (they are on a different hard-drive), but I shall try and do another test-install-run with the new format again. On the off-chance I did something wrong when packing the stuff, which I doubt, but still.

Another possibility is that something else is wrong with your installation, in which case please try running anadius's validator, and then copy-paste the results ("Forum") into a reply here:
https://anadius.github.io/sims-4-tools/validator.html

Good luck!

I used the torrent version since the direct downloads weren't working for me. Have tried the force re-check, same result.
Here are the results for the validator. Thanks

OK, thank you. Would please try re-extracting the Global Patch again [version 1.61.15.1020], into your The Sims 4 installation folder? And replace all existing files when prompted.

After that please also re-use anadius's dlc-toggler. You can also safely delete the stuff that shows under "Unknown Files".

Good luck!

@The_gh0stm4n Ok, so I tried that, even redownloaded some of the dlc packs again with direct download, but same issue. Mostly it's that the worlds don't show up in the game, like Winderburg, Brindleton bay, and strangervilleand this causes errors.

Did you maybe forget to toggle these DLCs on, with anadius's dlc-toggler? Could also be an option.

I'll try those DLCs myself later in the day, but until then please try running another check with the validator, same as what you did before.

@The_gh0stm4n So, I did some more digging and it turns out although I thought I disabled Windows Defender before downloading, it still kept running in the background and deleted something in the files. My brother helped me disable it altogether and re downloading the update solved the problem.
Thank you for your help!

Gatekeeper Edit: solved and closed. Carlos is tha man
