Says data is missing or damaged.

I did an anadius scan both full and quick and it came up empty. Like, nothing in any of the fields. I have tried both methods of installing game, global patch and all dlcs, and also installing via the all in one download. I am at a loss. I have never had issues installing this before, origin is not running, windows defender is deactivated at the registry level.
I'm pretty knowledgeable in most things security related and programming/encryption so I checked the codex.cfg and everything is pretty much as it should be. What should I do? I've reinstalled this thing like 4 times now.

Hello and welcome to the G4TW Forums @Despairol,

Disclaimer straight away: I am not a computer expert, very far from it actually. Very Happy  Did you have The Sims 4 installed on that particular computer, in the past? If so, go under Documents\Electronic Arts\ and find a folder "The Sims 4". Delete or move it elsewhere, then re-start.

Maybe it can also be due to file permission hiccups. I myself use this method here, although it's controversial. Alternatively try editing file/folder permissions manually.

This was written for the context of TS3, but you should be able to apply this to almost any (other) folder too. Start with the Documents-folder, specifically the Electronic Arts => The Sims 4 portion. See if it changes anything with regards to the problem.

Maybe you could also try doing this with your actual TS4 installation folder, though if you say anadius's check showed no results, I don't think there is a problem there.

Dude, you're an absolute godsend with that recommendation. I wouldn't have even thought file permissions could be causing the issue. Mark as solved.

Gatkeeper Edit: solved and closed.
