.sims3pack / .package - HOW TO ?????

Hi All !!

Can anybody help me ... ??

I'm a total beginner when it comes to a Sims 3 installation.
I have now done a new and clean installation with all 11 expansion and
stuff packs using the fix from Games4TheWorld, and everything works
fine !! :-)
But now I have 'A LOT' of Store Updates that I wants to add - mostly
.sims3pack files, but also some .package files.
When I dobbelclick on the .sims3pack files they seems to be installed
okay. But the next time i start the laucher they are actually NOT
installed !! :-/
This also seems to be a very slow way to install so many files ?!
I have googled this problem, and how to install these files. But I
get more and more confused on how to do this the right way ??!!
Can anybody help me here ... How do you guys install these files ??

Hello,
Sims3packs can be installed in a number of ways, but as not to confuse you with too much information I'll tell you about 2 of them.
In any case, your sims3packs should be placed in My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads.
From there, you can install them the "traditional way" which means starting the launcher, navigating to the "downloads" tab in the launcher, selecting the ones you want to install (or select all) and click install.
The alternative is cc magic. Which tends to be less borked than the launcher anyway.
It also requires the sims3packs in the above mentioned downloads folder and when you start the program it starts installing everything from the downloadsfolder.
The Launcher has a way of making you think something isn't installed though, so I would recommend having a look in game to see if they are really not installed.
