Can't see any items in buy/build mode?
Hi,
I installed the sims Pets the other day and now whenever i'm in buy mode or build mode, I can't see any of the default items. The only things i can see is the simpoint items which are available to purchase. I have checked the filters and have selected show all items however it just shows these simpoint items!
Are there any other filters located in some menu that I may have accidentally clicked on? I am able to find the items under view all items but it is very annoying, as they are all mixed up and not sorted in order.
I haven't been able to try the ultimate fix yet because I'm using a mac with bootcamp, and only have 100mb left of space on my bootcamp partition. I want to see if theres anything i can do to fix this without having to reinstall windows and increase my bootcamp size as it takes a while, especially after reinstalling each sims expansion.
thanks

Hello,
I'll move this topic to the MAC section to start with.
Youcan however get rid of the simpoint items by turning off the in game store in your game options.

Yes i am using windows 7 64bit on bootcamp. Using reloaded's base game with a patch to 1.29
I can't do the fix as there is no space left on my bootcamp partition to install it on, it won't let me continue. I'm just going to try reintall windows and sims + all expansions tonight and increase the bootcamp size.

Re: Can't see any items in buy/build mode?
Sure thing, but I was only posting to check if there was another way to fix it without having to do this. It's taking precious sim time out of my night

Hello,
You can always wait for Admin's reply.
Is there any way you can clear some space on your partition?

Re: Can't see any items in buy/build mode?
Nope, i'm actually posting this for my gf it's her macbook. Sims is the only thing she uses on her windows, ive removed all programs i can but still not enough space. I tried another smaller patcher on another website (modthesims) but that's screwed up her game. it won't load into any neighbourhoods so reinstalling bootcamp is the only option
i also looked into using programs to resize the bootcamp partition however the only good one was 10 USD
created the bootable usb and going to reinstall as soon as she finishes watching her movie. Just double checking, where are all her save files located? in documents or in the program files?

Re: Can't see any items in buy/build mode?
Well I fixed it. Last night I backed up all the save files and reinstalled bootcamp (stupid macs are so lame they gave all these problems and after google searching apparently i needed to defrag the disk. The only defrag program for mac is 10USD. All this searching and playing around with the disk application took some time, so i decided might aswel try a restart. That fixed it and i was able to continue with the bootcamp install, and it went smoothly.
So i managed to start installing the sims, and realised i accidentally deleted razors version of the base game... soooooooo i had to redownload another 5gb.
This morning i installed it, patched to 1.29 with a manual patcher, installed riverview and hidden springs, then generations, then ambitions, then late night. Then decided to test the automatic updates which didn't work last time instead of downloading the ultimate fix from this site. It managed to work and updated my game to 1.33. I then installed Pets (except encountered the same installation errors as last time, something about appaloosa plains package error). I just hit retry a few times then had to hit ignore as it kept popping up during install. The install finished like last time however, and I opened the game up before putting my save files in. It was working fine and didn't give me the "you are runnig a fake copy of sims, continue or exit" error. All the items were there in build/buy mode.
Copied the save files (1.3gb worth ) into the electronic arts folder, and all is working fine except for riverview. The launcher tells me it's installed but i can't select it when i open up the game, and my saved families are greyed out
thanks
