1.34 manual update error. Please help!

Whenever I try to do a manual update my game says: "The installed version of the application could not be determined. The setup will now terminate." I can't get it to update via the launcher because i get an "Invalid file" Error. Please help!

I own a legitimate copy of the base game, so from a disc.

I did take note of the first step and I have installed every one of those packs except sweet treats and pets so I am pretty sure that's not the issue, but I do still have the #crack folders items installed from the last fix in my base game folder, is that what's causing the problem?

No, skip the "# Crack" folders that come with the torrents and use the "# Crack" from the latest version of the Fix, as described.
