Hi there,

For god's sake, please keep all your requests in one topic, instead of opening a new topic for every new request. Thank you!

Well excuse me, but (1) it appeared to be the practice in this forum to make new threads for each thing, (2) it's a lot easier to track if there are specific replies that way, and (3) there's nothing in the "Read this first" in the Requests that indicates I need to post requests any way other than I already did.

Thank you for putting them all in one, but I had specific titles on each that I now have to go update in the post you edited, because they're not in the body of the post. And the title of this thread is now technically not accurate.

Hello,

Actually it's not, we always ask people to keep everything in one topic, so it's easier for us to track progress and get a good overview of everything. If you, for example, want to request 20 items and open a new topic for each request, we'll only see all your requests in the "Requests" category and we'd have to reply/read every one of them. If you keep them in once topic, we can read everything at once, which, believe me, is a lot easier.
And no, it doesn't say that, but we don't assume someone opens a new topic for every single request. That's why I just told you.

I'm sorry about the topic names, but those don't really matter for someone looking for the items. Since you already included the links in the post itself, one just clicks the link and there you go, item page, item name, everything you need to know.

Thanks for that thorough explanation of why you combined my posts. Respectfully, I disagree on some of the things you said, so because I am a little noob-ish to d/ling Sims stuff, I thought I'd recommend some things that may help other noobs to the forum.

First, you say you "always ask people to keep everything in one topic." You may not have to do this if you put it in the "Read this first" document stuck at the top of this forum.

I do see that it's easier for content providers to access requests easier if they're all in one thread, but it doesn't make it easier for the OCD noob who may want to track requests by thread so they can easily see what content someone is responding to. Simple preference here, so I can't make you change your mind on this (nor would I expect you to! Very Happy).

You also say, "we don't assume someone opens a new topic for every single request." Fair enough. But wouldn't it be easier to include a sentence about this in the "Read this first" thread, so you don't have to reply, "That's why I just told you," and can instead reply, "Please read the Read this first thread [insert link here." ??

And lastly, you say, "I'm sorry about the topic names, but those don't really matter for someone looking for the items." This is my biggest concern. In your "Read this first," you encourage people to search for what they're looking for prior to posting a new request thread. I did that with all of my requests before posting them. If someone else was looking for an item or set, how would they know that I had already requested it if they couldn't see the terms they were searching for? I know some of the links contain the set names, but most are just ID numbers.

As I said, these are all suggestions. I don't expect you to make changes, and as an Admin, aren't bound to anything I say. I just thought some of those words may be helpful to noobs like me.

With all that being said, I am going to post a new thread with ALL requests in the same post, along with titles above the links. You can close this thread.

Thanks for your help in illuminating the process for me.

Sincerely,
A BIG FAT Sun, Surf & Sand (Swim + Sleep) 1490881299

Hello,

Like I said, if you read the Forum rules you accepted when registering, they clearly state that spamming is not allowed. Opening like 9 topics all including just one request each does count as spam. And if you think it doesn't, you'll have to believe me.
If you're looking for items we have uploaded, feel free to check them out on our official MediaFire account here: http://www.mediafire.com/?y8uy4gu2y8jqt . This category is just meant for requests one wants us to upload for them.
I think you misunderstood that sentence, because the "Read this first" post says:
Admin wrote:Before posting a Request, be sure your Request isn't already in the list bellow! (It's easier to use [CTRL] + F, to see if your Request isn't already in the list)
It means searching on the request list, which is all indexed on one page, and not searching the whole Forum.

And since you opened a new topic HERE, it clearly shows you didn't really get the message.
Anyhow, I'll close this topic now. If you have any suggestions, feel free to post them in the "Suggestion Box" category, here: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/f5-suggestion-box Smile

This topic is now closed.

Actually, I'll need the ID numbers to find the items. The names of the objects mean nothing if you're looking for the files Smile

Anyway, I've replied to your new topic and am about to start searching.
