Sims 3 Ultimate Fix & Sims 3 Official Updates Empty Sims 3 Ultimate Fix & Sims 3 Official Updates

I uninstall my Sims 3 games everytime there is an official Sims 3 patch update. Do I have to do that with the ultimate fix? Or can I update the game with the patch as if it were the actual game itself? Sorry if this is confusing but please let me know k' Thanks!
