Sims 3 launcher stops working Empty Sims 3 launcher stops working

I've got the base game and generations. I did the Ultimate Fix Thing but it didn't fix the launcher issue. (I couldn't get the launcher working beforehand, without Generations, just the base game)

GameVersion = 1.34.27.016002 (via SuperPatcher)

Thanks to the Ultimate Fix, it broke my game - can't initialize service

Which error code are you getting with that service initialization error? The code can lead us to the problem and the solution.

Hi Lady ElDi:
I'm trying to use the launcher so I can install Sims3pack files, specially the DLC worlds. Do you know any way to install worlds without using the launcher?

You can install worlds with Merlin.

I've tried Merlin before, but it didn't fully extract Hidden Springs, told me 1 failed. Another utility gave me a bunch of .package files, and I tried putting them everywhere but the game doesn't recognize it - pretty sure I need a .world file too. How would I use Merlin?

Hello,

I never used Merlin to install anything, it's just something I heard. I use Merlin to go through packages when I extract sims3packs.
There's a manual for it here.
