Sims site down? Cannot update new Diesel game!

Hello!
Once again I am back! You see I just bought world adventures and diesel stuff pack.
I installed World Adventures first and then when I tried installing Diesel stuff pack it said that it was unupdatable because the previous games were too old. So I thought that best thing to do would be to re-crack everything again (including the newly installed WA) and update to the new 1.36.
So when I arrived to step 11, in which you have to update the game it says the site is down! So obviously I can't update the game! So I just downloaded the manual 1.36 patch but I don't know how to use it! If I double click on the file it asks me to find the sims3app!!!
Please help I desperately wanna play!

Then I recommend using the manual patch, indeed.
Since you say it doesn't find the game, try locating it manually. Does the warning give you that option?

You see, I just don't get ANYTHING about the manual patch! I assume I am supposed top double click on it correct? So when I do that I get a window asking me to ""Select "The sims3.app" and click Update"". PLEASE tell me WHAT is the sims3.app that I am supposed to update and hope do I find it?!
I am being so annoying because I once did this before on my own and chose the sims 3 game in itself in the applications section and it completely corrupted my game!!

Do you mean that even though I have a few expansions I should still go to APPLICATIONS-> THE SIMS 3 -> and select the sims 3 application?

That would be logical, since it's only the base game that has to be updated, but please, don't take it from me. Admin probably knows this. I'm simply speculating.
