No disc error with diesel stuff

Every time I hit the play button on the launcher it says no disc is found. Now, I know all about the cracks and how to install them properly, I am not new to this. I installed all the cracks including the ultimate fix. I am still getting the same error message. So I tried to mount it with a mini image I had and that didn't work either. Told me it couldn't authenticate the disc. I have done everything per the instructions here and am getting no where. Can anyone help me figure this out? I've gone over and over everything and its done correctly.

Yes I did. I even had my fiancee check to make sure its right (he's a software engineer) and he said it was.

I have done everything. I've tried it over and over again. Watched the instructional video, did everything step by step and it isn't working. The TSW.exe file doesn't seem to be correct.

Edit: When trying to post my screenshot, I get the error message "could not upload file : exceeded total storage space. (free space: 8 )" even though it's under 1 Mb in size. New members can't post links, so I can't link it, but paste this into your url bar

Edit 2: A similar problem was solved by the person deleting the Mods folder. When I open the directory MyDocuments > Electronic Arts > TheSims3, there is no mods folder to delete.


I’m not OP, but I’m having this same problem even though I didn’t download Diesel Stuff. I feel like I must have done something wrong, but I’m staring at all the installation guides, I’ve gone through all of them multiple times, and I can not figure out what I’ve done wrong. If it’d be better to make a separate topic, I can do that too.

I've provided a screenshot like the one you asked for from OP in the attachments. The cracked files I pasted over are the last two files on the list. The modification date was something different before I pasted the files from the # Crack folder, but after pasting, they match the dates of the files in the # Crack from Pets. I have a total of 3 # Crack folders (one from the Pets dl, one from Generations, and one from the Fix, and I get different errors depending on which version of the fix I’ve applied the my Game\Bin folder. The one from the Pets folder was last modified on 10/18/11, Generations: 5/27/11 and the fix: 7/10/12. If the crack from either the Pets or Generations folder is applied, I get the “disk authorization failure: no game disk found. Please insert a copy of “the Sims 3 Pets/Generation” in the dialogue box of the launcher. If I try to launch with the crack from the Fix, I don’t get the error message in the launcher, the game starts, but the program immediately crashes and all I can do is a hard reset.


I’m operating on Vista, if that matters. After installing Pets and Generations, I can’t get my game to start up. If I revert back from applying all cracks, I can play the base game without the expansions but I can’t make the expansions work even though they appear to be installed, and after following all guides I am still unable to play the game.

I have both installation guides from Pets and Generations, as well as the Sims 3 Ultimate Fix PDF and the PDF explaining how to fix the disk error with Pets as I d/led the original unfixed version (and the cracks and fixes those guides were packaged with). I initially had issues installing Pets, but was able to successfully finish installing it after successfully applying the Pets fix for the disk error during installation but have not successfully loaded the game since installation completed. After installing Pets successfully, I installed Generations without issue and started experiencing the above described problems when I then went to start the game.

After going through the directions on the Ultimate Fix PDF, I’m getting the following error messages when I try to run the game:

When I run the S3 Launcher or Sims3 Launcher as an administrator:

It tries to open EA d/l manager upon launching. States that the path is invalid and to either re-download or reset the path. I close the dialogue box because I don’t need any updates. I had no issues downloading the patches or updating the game.

Opens launcher, all expansion pack symbols I’ve installed are lit up (Base, Generations, Pets). Updates state game is completely up to date (version 1.36.045. I’ve also already applied the necessary patches - When I try to start I receive this message in the launcher dialogue box “disk authorization failure: no game disk found. Please insert a copy of “the Sims 3 Pets” game disk before proceeding.”

If I try to launch the game without going through the launching using the TS3.exe or TS3W.exe files, as some others suggested might work, the game crashes immediately with error code: disk initialization error: 0x024e424f. Sometimes it just freezes and I never get this message because the program stopped and I had to do a hard reset to shut it down because it froze the task manager too. If I try to open either the Sims 3 Generations or Sims 3 Pets icon shortcuts, the same thing happens.

Someone on another forum recommended backing up and deleting the cache content in the MyDocuments\TheSims3 folder, but that didn’t work either.

Additional issue with store content:

Don’t know if anyone can help me with this either but I also can’t install any of the store content that I downloaded. My base game initially didn’t recognize any of it after I pasted it into the MyDocuments\TheSims3\Downloads folder (as per the instructions on another forum), but after updating the game to the newest version, it did recognize it upon launching and told me I could install it, but when I clicked through the tabs, it didn’t show up still. Someone mentioned transferring the content in increments of 20 MB or less and stated that transferring more at a time would cause problems, but even when transferring smaller increments it doesn’t seem to work. I have all the EA store content but none of it is recognized by the launcher.

I deleted TheSims3 folder in MyDocuments and then let the game re-create it when I launched. I did however have to copy over my saves so if anyone tries that, make sure you back up the folder before you delete it. I then went through the directions in the Ultimate Fix and it worked after I deleted that folder.
